Our after school enrichment program prides itself on providing a safe, neuro-diverse, fun, and engaging environment to scholars needing after school care. There are three major tenets to our after school enrichment program:
Academics: We aim to ensure that scholars complete all assigned homework, while giving special attention to areas of difficulty. For our scholars who need additional resources, we do offer some accommodations and modifications to make engagement and learning accessible. In addition, we reinforce academic content through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) and Project Based Learning activities.
Culture: This is an opportunity for scholars to learn skills that may not be incorporated in their everyday school curriculum. Within age/ability appropriate groups, scholars do crafts, cooking and life skills exercises in such topics as conflict resolution and financial literacy.
Recreation: The recreational part of our extended care program allows scholars to release excess energy while teaching them good sportsmanship and healthy social skills. Scholars play a variety of games that develop both physical and mental skills that are necessary to evolve in those areas.
